Anthony Jackson -- What is career readiness? There's a lot of ambiguity around what it means. The National Association of State Directors of Career Technical Education Consortium (NASDCTEc), headed by Kimberly A. Green, has assembled a team to work on a common definition to be published in mid-June. When I spoke with Green, she told me "It certainly involves technical skills, as well as language proficiency, and global competency."

State report aims to lower dropout rates

The Drop Out Prevention Action Plan, presented by Delaware Department of Education officials to the state Board of Education on Thursday, aims to address the 2,207 Delaware high school students who left school last year -- that was 5.8 percent of the 37,946 Delaware students enrolled in grades nine through 12.
