Everyday Mathematics program to be implemented into Early Learning School curriculum

The Everyday Mathematics program has been touted heavily as the reason for the district's improvement in math standardized test results. Eighty-three percent of Alliance third-graders district-wide passed math portions of proficiency tests, a 15 percent increase over last year's class.

I LOVE that programs like Everyday Math and Investigations are being implemented in so many schools.

But we as education professionals supporting and adapting this programs need to be aware and sensitive to the fact that our PARENTS do not understand and many times get the wrong impression about these programs. We have to educate them as well. It is not "fuzzy" or "watered down" it is actually way more meaningful.
